# Create your AI Inbox

The AI Inbox is a real folder, not a Heedit database. It gives finished work a place you can see and every tool can understand.

## Create or adopt the folder

Open Heedit → Setup and choose Create AI Inbox. Heedit asks before creating the Desktop/Heedit folder. If that folder already exists, Heedit adopts it without changing what is inside.

- The folder cannot be a symbolic link.
- Heedit never renames, sorts or archives its contents.
- You can reveal the folder in Finder from the completed setup row.

## Use real files

Open Inbox files in Heedit, drag them to another app, copy their paths, or reveal them in Finder. Connected agents can record where a delivery came from, but that provenance is Heedit metadata and never modifies the file itself.
