Files, local data and privacy
Your documents remain ordinary local files. Heedit stores only the local state needed to reopen, annotate and connect them.
What stays local
Heedit does not upload documents into a proprietary library and does not require an account to manage them. Recent-file state, Inbox provenance and annotations are stored locally. Removing that metadata does not remove the source document.
- The AI Inbox is a user-visible Finder folder.
- Annotations live in Heedit's local application data, separate from disposable view state.
- Requests made through Heedit receive content only through the documented confirmation or annotation-delivery paths; an Agent may separately have its own file permissions.
Network-aware content
An HTML document may request remote resources when opened normally. Use View → Reload HTML Offline when the page should not access the network. Links opened from a document may contact third-party sites; external links open in the default browser. See Terms & Policy for the applicable privacy and third-party boundaries.
