Read and arrange your documents

A report, spreadsheet and deck can share one window without first becoming the same format.

Open each format on its own terms

Markdown uses the Heedit editor. PDF, HTML and images use dedicated readers. Plain text, structured text, logs, diffs and notebooks use native read-only canvases; CSV and TSV remain grids; Office, RTF and iWork documents use the macOS system preview.

Keep related documents together

Drop a document on a canvas to open it there, or use Window → Split to the Right… / Split Below… to place it beside or below the current one. A window supports up to three panes. File → Open Recent lists recent files; Command-F searches the focused document when that format supports search.
